Getting to Casa Lofoten
The house sits on a quiet side fjord in the west of Lofoten — five minutes from Ramberg, four minutes off the E10, thirty-five minutes from Leknes airport. This guide covers only the last leg: the roads, the tunnel, the ferry option, and exactly where to turn.

The house, exactly
First, get to Lofoten
Three doors in, honestly compared in the full travel guide. The short version:
Fly to Leknes — our default recommendation for most trips. Via Bodø on Widerøe’s small aircraft: 39 seats, so check and book that leg before your long-haul flights, not after. From the airport, the house is about 35 minutes by rental car.
The Bodø–Moskenes car ferry — the budget route, and the right one if you bring your own car. About 3¼ hours at sea; book the car ferry well ahead in summer.
Fly to Evenes and drive — direct jets from Oslo and from elsewhere in Europe, then about four hours on the road to the west of Lofoten. It suits longer trips planned as a drive-in journey.
Leknes to the door, in 35 minutes
Pick up the rental car at the airport — then it is one road, nearly all the way.
From Leknes you follow the E10 west, drop through the undersea Nappstraumen tunnel to Flakstadøya, and carry on along the coast to Ramberg. There you leave the E10 for the side road along Skjelfjorden, and the last five minutes run quietly along the water to the house.
Know what the E10 is like before you drive it: often very narrow, shared with motorhomes and lorries that sometimes have to stop completely to pass each other — and sheep graze along the road, at times on it. None of this is difficult; it just asks for unhurried driving.
Temporary: the Nappstraumen tunnel works (until December 2027)
The undersea tunnel is the E10’s only link between Leknes and the west. During work periods there is convoy driving behind a lead car in the daytime, and the tunnel closes at night (roughly 23:00–06:00) with only limited let-throughs — waits can reach an hour. The works pause around Christmas and for a period each summer. Check current convoy and closing times in the Statens vegvesen traffic app before an early flight or a late arrival. This notice comes down when the works finish.

Arriving on the Moskenes ferry
The car ferry from Bodø crosses to Moskenes, at the far western end, in about 3¼ hours — open sea, so rough days are felt. It lands you about ten minutes from Reine, and Reine is 20–30 minutes from the house: a genuinely scenic arrival drive past Hamnøy and Sakrisøy.
One practical warning: there is no car rental and no taxi rank at Moskenes, and buses from the port run very infrequently. The ferry works best with your own car on board. In summer, reserve the car-ferry slot well ahead.
Finding the house
The address is Skjelfjordveien 78, 8380 Ramberg — the exact spot is pinned in the box at the top of this page. The house sits on its own side fjord, off the E10, which is precisely why it is quiet.
Check-in is self service with a code lock: from 16:00 on arrival day, checkout by 11:00. The code comes with your booking, so a delayed plane or a late ferry is no problem. If you rent electric, the house has its own Type 2 charger, free for guests — plug in on arrival and forget about it.
