How many people can stay?
Eight, in four bedrooms with five beds: one double, two queen and one bunk bed. Two bedrooms and a bathroom are upstairs, two bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs.
Is the beach really private?
Yes. It lies directly in front of the house on the property's 14,700 m², and there is no through path across it.
Are there cameras on the property?
There are outdoor surveillance cameras on the grounds. They cover outdoor areas only, never the inside of the house or the sauna. We would rather you read that here than discover it on arrival.
Do we need a car?
Yes, in practice. Ramberg is five minutes away by car and the E10 four, but public transport on this side of the islands is not built for visitors. There is free parking and Type 2 charging on the property.
Can we charge an electric car?
Yes, Type 2 at level 2, free for guests. Confirm the current setup with us if you are relying on it for a long onward drive.
What is there for children?
Four bedrooms, one of them with a bunk bed, a high chair, a beach with no road to cross, and a lean-to shelter on the Volandstind trail that works as a turning point for short legs.
When can we see the northern lights?
From mid-September onwards, given clear skies and some patience. The house sits on a side fjord with little light spill, and there are benches on the hill behind.
When can we see the midnight sun?
In summer, from the dock. Ramberg is one of the few villages on the outer side of Lofoten, which is what makes it possible to watch the sun stay up over the sea.
Can we freeze and take home fish we catch?
There is a chest freezer in the laundry room in addition to the kitchen freezer, and an outdoor kitchen on the dock for cleaning fish. Export limits on fish change; check the current rules before you fly.
Is there anything noisy nearby?
No. The house is on Skjelfjorden with the water between it and the E10. Guests mention the quiet more often than almost anything else.
