14,700 square metres, and all of it yours
The plot runs from the road down to the water. It holds the house, the old barn and the boathouse, and between them a sand beach that is not shared with anyone. There is no path across it for other people to use, because there is no one else on it.
The dock has an outdoor kitchen, which sounds decorative until you have gutted a fish on it. There are chairs, and the midnight sun is visible from there in summer. Above and behind the house there is a fire place on the hill and the benches, which are where people end up when the aurora is out.
The private beach
The plot reads as one piece from the fjord; these strips walk through it, place by place — starting with the sand. No shared access, no road to cross.

Dinner at the dock
The dining table on the dock is where most evenings end up between May and August, because the sun does not go anywhere. The first photograph in this strip was taken at exactly midnight — grill going, sun still on the water. Much of what lands on the table came out of the fjord the same day.

Every photograph in this strip was taken on the property — over the boathouse, the main house and the old barn, and out across the fjord with Volandstind beneath the lights. The first four frames are from 26 September; from mid-September the benches on the hill behind the house are the place to stand, away from the house lights and facing open sky.

The red building to the left when you see the property from the fjord. It is not part of the rental — today it holds Susanne’s painting studio — but under the full moon and the aurora it earns its place in the photographs.

The same bird comes back to nest here every spring, and now and then a golden eagle lands on the beach.

What is actually ours during the stay?
All of it: 14,700 m², the sand beach, the dock with its outdoor kitchen, two fire pits, the roofed fire shelter, and the benches on the hill. No shared access.
Where do we watch the northern lights?
From the benches on the higher ground behind the house, away from the house lights, facing open sky. The outdoor lights have a manual switch so you can turn them off while you watch.
Is the beach usable for children?
It starts where the garden ends, with no road to cross and no shared access — genuinely usable by younger kids under supervision.
Can we charge an electric car?
Yes — a Type 2 charger at the parking in front of the boathouse, free for guests, with free parking on the property.
How close is the nearest hike?
Volandstind starts at the community hall car park in Skjelfjorden — 1,805 metres from the house, measured, twenty to twenty-five minutes on foot. The route to the summit is two kilometres one way, and a lean-to shelter early on the trail makes a sensible turning point for groups with small children. Read the route guide.
