Private sauna on your private beach

The property came with three buildings: the house, the old barn, and a boathouse at the water's edge. The boathouse was the obvious place for a sauna, because it was already standing where you would want to sit — low, close to the sea, looking straight out along the fjord.

The building is the classic red of a Lofoten boathouse, with a white door facing the beach and chairs lined up outside the window. It has a shower of its own, so you can rinse before your sauna session and after every cold plunge in the Arctic sea.

Yes. It is the converted boathouse on the property, for your group only, with its own shower and a window facing the fjord.

Can we swim from the sauna?

The private beach is a few steps from the sauna door. Guests use the two together all year — in winter that means a dip in Arctic water.

When is it best?

It works all year, but from mid-September it is the reason a trip outside high season works at all: warm up, go out, look up.
