The surf beach of the west — a sand beach on the outer coast a few minutes east of Ramberg, along the E10, with the surf camp right on the sand.

Lofoten Beach Camp runs the beach: surf lessons and board and wetsuit rental in season, a beach bar for the after-surf hour, and a bookable sauna a few steps from the water. You do not need to have surfed before — beginner lessons are the point of the place.

Winter is, for a hardy few, the best surfing season: the same storms that shape the season build the best waves of the year here. This is cold-water surfing for the experienced — full winter wetsuit, hood, gloves and boots, and peace with being cold — but it is real, and it is world class. The rest of us watch from the sand with a thermos.
