Your own beach, four minutes off the E10

A 1950s family house on Skjelfjorden, rebuilt by us into the place we dreamed of: new and functional where it matters, with the old charm kept where it belongs. Two floors, four bedrooms, a kitchen and a fireplace on each storey — room for eight: two families, a group of friends, or just the two of you. Social when you want to be, private when you don’t.

The sand beach starts where the fjord ends, and for your stay it is yours alone — with the dock, the sauna, the fire pits, and the benches on the hill behind. Ramberg, with its shop and café, is five minutes away. The E10 is four. There is a Type 2 EV charger by the door, free for guests. And the silence and the view, guests keep telling us, are the point.

The sauna

The boathouse became the sauna. The fjord became the cold plunge.

In the seventies this building held a boat and fishing gear. Today it holds a wood-panelled sauna with a window straight onto the beach, and just a few steps of sand between the hot bench and the cold Arctic sea.

It is the single thing our guests mention most. Not the idea of a sauna: the ritual of it. Heat, run, plunge, repeat — and after a long day in the mountains, there is no better recovery for tired legs. Then the quiet on the bench outside, while your pulse settles.

Central,not isolated.

5 min to Ramberg

Shop, café, restaurant, petrol and a doctor in the nearest village. You are not driving half an hour for milk.

Quiet,not remote.

4 min off the E10

Down a dead-end side road, with the water between the house and the main road. You reach everything; you hear nothing.

All yours,not shared.

Beach · sauna · 14,700 m²

The beach, the sauna and the grounds are only for your group, for the whole stay. No path across, no shared access.

The location

Close to everything.
Next to nothing.

From here, the famous names become short trips: Reine and Reinebringen twenty-odd minutes away, Nusfjord and Kvalvika within easy reach, Å at the end of the road — and one summit, Volandstind, that starts on foot 1.8 km from the house. You are four minutes off the E10, but on a side fjord: close to everything, next to nothing.

“An ideal starting point — Å, Nusfjord, Uttakleiv, all within a short drive.”

“On a side fjord, and therefore not directly on the E10. Quiet, with few cars passing.”
— SILVIA, THUN · SEPTEMBER 2023 · AIRBNB
“The perfect base — many of the best hiking trails close by.”

From Susanne

Every message
comes
straight to me

Every message comes straight to me, and I answer quickly. Tell me your rough plan and I will send back trail suggestions, driving tips and the small things only locals know — the reviews keep better score of this than I ever could. The practical side is professional: a code lock lets you in from 16:00 with no key handover, and a cleaning team resets the house completely before every stay.
